Performance.

For better cereal milling performance, a final grain humidification and a brief conditioning may be applied prior to the first roller mill bank. This humidification can be achieved in a controlled manner using the Sangati Berga MP-SPI Humidification System.

The system consists of a product passage sensor – SPI model – located at the entrance of a Misting Screw, which monitors the entry of the grain into the screw and releases the water. In conjunction with this, the MP model flowmeter controls the flow of water sent to the Misting Screw, ensuring the correct amount of water to be added to the grain. With the MP flowmeter, the current water flow can be easily measured while its electrovalve releases or stops the flow of water according to the information received from the SPI sensor.

In the MP flow meter, the current water flow can be easily measured through a rotameter, while its solenoid valve releases or stops the water flow according to information received from the SPI flow sensor.

According to each application, the system may further comprise: a BU-2 or BU-4 misting unit that creates the mist inside the humidifier screw via 2 or 4 nozzles respectively, resulting in a more uniform distribution on the surface of the grain. The Sangati Berga UN misting units feature nozzles made from nonferrous materials, manufactured with high precision CNC machines that use compressed air to create the mist from the water. The characteristics of the mist can be controlled easily via an air pressure regulator located on the misting unit.

The system is also effective when applied to corn degermination processes, where the Misting Screw is positioned immediately before the reservoir that feeds the degerminator, facilitating the removal of the germ and reducing the amount of grains broken.
All components of the MP-SPI Humidification System are robustly built and its simple design results in a product of high durability with low maintenance costs.
