Due the oscillating movement provided by two vibrating motors, combined with the upwards action of the air flow, occurs the stratification of the product by gravity. In such way that the heavy grain and the stones remain above the sieve, while the light fraction floats over its surface allowing for the air flow to carry out the first separation which is the removal of the light husks, straws and dust.
After the first stratification zone, the product arrives to the upper deck second and third sieves, where begins the discharge of the stones and heavy product to the lower deck, providing a easy segregation of the stones and sand particle that goes up in the opposite direction of the product flow.
The heavy grain fraction is discharged from the machine through the lower deck outlet while the light grain fraction is separately discharged through the upper deck outlet. The light grain fraction (depending on the mesh opening of the second and third sieve) can vary from 2-3 % up to 20 – 25% of the machine capacity.
The Gravity Selector is a dry stoner and a grain classifier in one single machine. It features two stacked decks that can be easily removed and are enclosed in a vacuum chamber. A special feeding device that does not require any adjustment, spreads the product over the entire width of the upper deck. This upper deck consists of three adjacent sieve sections each having different size openings.
