Ultra Intensive Polisher – SALUS

The greater “healthiness” requirements demanded by our customers in their mills prompted our research center to develop a specific machine for treating grain that has already been prepared for milling, humidified and rested.
The grain, which has already been prepared for milling and is fed into the SALUS, is worked superficially by friction between the grains themselves, by the shock of the rotor vanes and pins and by abrasion between the grains and the surface of the perforated plate. These actions allow for the removal of the outermost husk of the grain, called the cuticle, which is extracted through the holes in the perforated plate.
The degree of intensity of the surface work on the grain is achieved by adjusting the sluice gates at the outlet of the equipment, which allow for greater or lesser abrasion on the surface of the grain, controlling the length of time the grain remains inside the machine. Friction on the surface of the grains allows up to 2% of the cuticle to be removed (this can be slightly higher, depending on the characteristics of the grain).
In this new machine, the cuticle detached from the grain is removed from the equipment by means of a flow of suction air with high depression, and is directed to the circuit for collecting impurities and by-products, from cleaning or from the mill.
